I couldn’t find anyone who talked straight enough when I needed it. So I became that person.

My Story

THIS ISN'T THEORY.
THIS IS LIVED.

I grew up in chaos — no guidance, no safety net, no mentor, no male role model worth following. A house that didn’t feel like home in a world that didn’t care whether you made it or not. I learned early that if anything was going to be built, it was on me.

"Survival isn't optional. It's mandatory. I learned that before most kids learn to ride a bike."

I spent years in high-pressure environments that don’t make space for weakness — commercial kitchens, building sites, FIFO operations. I worked as a professional chef. Became a personal trainer and business owner. Rose through the ranks to Superintendent in FIFO in my 20s — and while I was doing it, I went back to study, completing a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety. I already knew what the work cost men. I wanted to understand why.

Eventually I brought a world-recognised gym brand from Melbourne to Western Australia and built it into a success — while going through separation, divorce, and learning what it meant to be a single father. I was building something on the outside while trying to hold myself together on the inside. None of that came from the right upbringing or the right connections. It came from discipline, showing up, and learning how to perform when everything around me was falling apart.

I’ve also lived the side most men never talk about — because men like me don’t talk about it. Violence. Burnout. Betrayal. Divorce. Raising kids as a single father. Rebuilding from nothing more than broken pieces that didn’t yet fit together.

I never shared any of it. Not because it wasn’t real — but because there was no space for it, and no one around me who talked straight enough to make it feel safe to. That’s why FORGED exists.

After everything I’d been through, I trained as a counsellor and men’s coach — not to change careers, but to do this work properly. With the credentials that give it structure and the lived experience that gives it truth. Both matter. Neither one is enough on its own.

This isn’t a methodology lifted from a textbook. It’s everything I’ve lived, applied honestly, in service of men who are exactly where I’ve been.

Diploma of Counselling through the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors — specialising in men's mental health, trauma, relationships, grief and loss.

Abuse Counselling — Advanced Study Major

Specialist training in recognising and responding to abuse — physical, emotional, and psychological. Applied professionally and practically, not theoretically.

Relationship Counselling & Conflict Resolution — Advanced Study Major

Comprehensive training in the complexities of human relationships, therapeutic approaches, and practical counselling techniques for relationship breakdown and conflict.

Grief & Loss Counselling — Advanced Study Major

Specialist training in counselling clients through significant loss and grief — all types of loss, not just bereavement. Directly relevant to divorce, separation, and identity loss.

Combined with 20+ years of hands-on leadership experience — from commercial kitchens to Superintendent level in the Pilbara to building and running a multi-staff business — this qualification backs lived practice with formal framework.

Men's Coach

Trained in men's coaching with a focus on high-pressure environments, life transitions, identity rebuilding, and helping men move from stuck to forward.

Qualified Nutritionist

Formal qualification in nutrition — the connection between physical health, diet, and mental resilience is real. I apply this practically, not theoretically.

Qualified Personal Trainer

Formally trained in exercise and human performance — physical training as a tool for mental health and resilience is a cornerstone of how I work.

Postgraduate — Occupational Health & Safety

Post-graduate qualification in OHS — a deep understanding of the physical and psychological demands of high-risk industries and the men who work in them.

Lived experience of divorce, co-parenting conflict, raising kids alone, and rebuilding identity and purpose after the relationship ended.

How I Work

I don't do soft-pedalling. I don't do comfortable conversations that go nowhere. I do direct, honest engagement with what's actually happening — and I build practical tools around it.

The men who work with me aren't looking for someone to validate them. They're looking for someone to help them stop the cycle, get clarity, and start moving in a direction that means something.

I treat every man as capable of more than he's currently showing himself. My job is to hold that standard while the work gets done.
